Artificial Turf is not only the the nylon, polyethylene and polypropylene layers, it’s the full system including the base in which the turf is installed on. Typically, the turf is installed on top of 6″-8″ of compacted gravel as a firm base to pull the turf tight onto. The 6″-8″ gravel base makes a perfect drainage environment as all the water drains through the turf and gravel as it then goes into the ground sub base soils.
